Since their inception, one of the primary uses for handhelds has been as scheduling and contact management tools. Because the Address Book and Date Book that are included with Palm OS devices are fairly simple, many replacements have been developed over the years. One of the most popular of these is Agendus, until recently known as Action Names Datebook.

iambic has just taken the wraps off Agendus 6.0. New features include a Today View, new agenda views, an advanced calendar view, customizable background, new jog dial functions, tap-and-hold menu features, alarm set-up for ongoing meetings, and much more.

This version has been designed to integrate with the company's many other applications. For example, if iambic Mail is on the handheld, Agendus' Today View will show the number of emails. Using menus in Agendus, it's now possible to create a new document in FastWriter or spreadsheet in TinySheet.

Agendus offers much greater use of color that previous versions. It supports all Palm OS and Palm OS 5 devices, including 160 by 160 pixel 320 by 320 pixel and 320 by 480 pixel screens, and offers support in all available views. For users of high-resolution screens, the icons in the Today View are three-dimensional.

Agendus is $25 or a $10 upgrade for all Agendus 5.x users.
