Though ASUSTeK is best known for producing handhelds and computers for other companies, it does release some under its own brand name. Today it debuted its second Pocket PC model, the MyPal A620.
This handheld runs Pocket PC 2002 on a 400MHz Intel XScale PXA255 processor. It has 64MB of RAM and 32MB of ROM.
It has a 3.5-inch transflective TFT LCD display capable of displaying 16-bit color. It also has a CompactFlash Type II slot. It is 4.9 by 3.0 by .5 inches and weighs 5 ounces.
Currently, the MyPal A620 is available only in Taiwan. "We will begin to market the device overseas at the end of this quarter or at the beginning of the third quarter," an ASUSTeK spokesperson told DigiTimes.
Reportedly, the company is also planning to offer later this quarter the MyPal A710, a Pocket PC with built-in Wi-Fi wireless networking.
ASUSTeK also makes handhelds for Casio and Palm Inc.
