PocketMusic 1.1 from PocketMind is now available. This is a freeware Pocket PC MP3 player with customizable interface, 10-band Equalizer, Visualizer, Playlist Editor, and Winamp playlists support.
sfr GmbH has introduced a Palm OS version of its visual Key security app. Logging on to the handheld is accomplished by touching one or several spots on any graphic in one of the common formats. The position and the order of the spots form a key which serves as identification. It costs $15.
Covertec has begun offering leather flip cases for the Palm Tungsten T and the HP iPAQ 5400 series. The iPAQ one is also compatible with most HP models. These are available in a variety of colors, include SD/MMC slots, and cost $45.
Chapura has released KeyContacts 1.3, which allows users to synchronize their Palm OS Handheld with Microsoft Outlook. The latest version has enhancements for those using the 5-way D-pad on the Tungsten models, plus enhanced viewing capabilities, and Bluetooth readiness. It sells for $25 or it's a free update for current users.
Magic Button from TranCreative makes the Close button on Pocket PC 2002 devices really close applications. It also provides a Task bar with running task icons, activated by tap and hold on the Close/OK button. It is freeware.
Sony has announced that Norio Ohga, who has been the company's chairman of the board since 2000, is retiring at the end of the month. Sony's CEO Nobuyuki Idei will take Mr. Ohga's place.
