Christmas Day is almost here. While spending time with family and friends is the best way to celebrate, you can also have some holiday fun with your handheld.
For Pocket PC users, Christmas Rush is a 3-D game in which you steer Santa's sleigh through the sky in a mad rush to deliver persents on time. In keeping with the season, it is freeware and can be downloaded from the WebAttack web site.
Palm OS users can have some fun, too. XmasTree is a freeware application that allows you to decorate a Christmas Tree with a variety of ornaments. It is available on the Flyingbeans.com web site.
ClickGamer is offering a free copy of Snowed In 2, a puzzle game for Pocket PC. It is free and can be found on its developer's web site.
Xmas2k for Palm OS includes The Santa Menace game, Christmas carols, and other holiday-related fun. It is available for $5 from the Red Mercury web site.
BallShooter has put together a special Christmas version of Load Runner for the Pocket PC. This offers forty Christmas levels and five Christmas backgrounds. It is $12 and is available on its developer's web site.
Fictionwise is getting into the holiday gift-giving spirit by giving away a dozen classic ebooks from Charles Dickens -- including A Christmas Carol. Also in this collection is David Copperfield, A Tale of Two Cities, and most of Dickens' best known works. These can be downloaded, at no charge, from the Fictionwise web site.
Going caroling? Memoware has the lyrics to over seventy Christmas carols in one file. It can be downloaded from the Memoware web site. Of course, this site also has many other Christmas-related ebooks.
All of these are available in formats that can be read on either a Palm OS or Pocket PC handheld.
The staff of Brighthand hopes you all have a great holiday!
