Fujitsu-Siemens has officially announced the first Pocket Loox smartphone, confirming the specifications of this device that had previously been leaked to Brighthand.

The T800 will use a design that's growing in popularity: a thumb-keyboard below a 240-by-240-pixel display.

It will run Windows Mobile 5.0 for Pocket PC Phone Edition on a 416 MHz XScale processor. It will have 64 MB of RAM and 128 MB of Flash ROM for storage.

This will be a GSM device that also offers support for UMTS high-speed wireless networking, giving it a maximum data transfer speed of 384 kilobits per second (kbps).

But it won't stop there; this Pocket PC will also offer Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) and Bluetooth 2.0.

There will be two versions of this smartphone. One, called the T830, will have two different cameras -- one VGA and another 2 megapixel. The second will be named the T810 and will not have any cameras at all.

A SirfStar III GPS receiver and an SD slot will round out both versions.

The T800 will be 4.9 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide, and 0.8 inches thick (12.6 cm by 6.4 cm by 2.1 cm). It will weigh about 6.7 ounces (190 g).

Fujitsu-Siemens has not announced when or where this device will be released.
