Opera Software makes versions of its web browser for sevaral mobile platforms, but it does not yet make one for Pocket PCs.
This will soon change, and PocketCenter.de has an advance look at it.
This will be compatible with Windows Mobile 5.0, and is expected to support all major Web standards, including CSS2, DOM 2, and JavaScript.
As demonstrated in the screenshots, it will be able to reformat Web pages to fit the width of any screen, eliminating the need for horizontal scrolling.
Opera Software has not announced when the Pocket PC version of its web browser will be released, or what it will cost.
Until now, Opera Software has concentrated on making mobile versions of its web browser for smartphones, rather than handhelds.
This is why it has versions for Series 60, Windows Mobile Smartphones, and Java-based phones, but not for Palms or Pocket PCs.
Still, with an increasing number of cellular-wireless Pocket PCs expected to hit on the market in the coming months, Opera Software appears ready to meet the new demand.
