Hewlett-Packard has moved the group responsible for its iPAQ handhelds from its emerging technology division to its notebook division, according to CNet's News.com.
HP is also changing the role of its emerging technologies division. In the future, it will be responsible for developing ideas into commercial products. Its involvement with products will end once they begin selling.
With this change, Sean Burke will no longer head the handheld group. Mr. Burke had been in charge of iPAQ development at Compaq and was still in charge after the merger with HP. He is hoping to find a new role at HP, according to CNet. Alex Gruzen, head of the notebook division, will hereafter be responsible for the handheld group.
