Several Asian websites have been able to dig up some additional information on the Legend 168, a Palm OS Handheld that Legend Group will release in China next month.

Courtesy of HandWatch.com According to CnPUG, it will have a 320 by 240 screen with a virtual Graffiti area. It will have 16MB of RAM and 8MB of Flash ROM. It will run a Chinese version of Palm OS 4.1 on a 33 MHz processor. Despite this, it will include an MP3 player. Of course, it will include the standard Palm OS apps.

The 168 will have an SD/MMC slot and a jog wheel. It will be 4.7 by 2.9 by .5 inches. This handheld will sell for below 2,000 yuan, or $240.

HandWatch.com has a collection of images of this device.

Legend is the leading provider of handhelds in China and this fall accounted for over 30% of the handhelds sold in that country. It currently sells the Pocket PC called the Legend XP100 but, last week, PalmSource announced that the computer giant was becoming a Palm OS licensee.

Thanks to Palm Infocenter for the tip.
