Memory card makers are perpetually locked in a race to see which company can cram the greatest capacity into the smallest space.
That race entered a new lap recently with Microdia's announcement of a 3 GB SD card. Until then, the largest card that had been announced was 2 GB.
According to Engadget, Microdia is also going to release a 3 GB MMC card, a 2 GB miniSD, and a 2 GB RS-MMC card.
Unfortunately, the company has not said when these will hit the market, or what they will cost.
More information about Microdia is available on its web site.
