MiTAC has unveiled the Mio A201, a GPS-enabled Pocket PC.
This will not be the first Pocket PC from this company, but it will be first with Bluetooth.
It's original model, the Mio 168, came out in 2003. Earlier this year, a version of this device with an updated operating system was released.
The Mio A201 runs Windows Mobile 5.0 on a 312 MHz XScale processor. It has 64 MB of RAM and 64 MB of ROM.
It has a swiveling GPS antenna located on a hinge on its back, allowing the device to be used in either portrait or landscape mode.
This Pocket PC uses the 20-channel SiRFstar III chipset, giving it outstanding GPS capabilities.
However, in an unusual move, MiTAC isn't including any mapping software with this handheld. That must be purchased separately.
The Mio A201 has a 240-by-320-pixel (QVGA) display and an SD card slot.
Unlike previous Pocket PC models from MiTAC, this one's 1,200 mAh battery will be swappable.
