Several weeks ago, an unconfirmed report surfaced that Toshiba planned to release a new low-cost Pocket PC model soon. Toshiba has officially announced the e350 in Europe. This model is expected to replace the e330.
This model will run Pocket PC 2002 on a 300 MHz Intel XScale PXA255 processor, which has a 200 MHz system bus, as opposed to the 100 MHz one on current PXA250 processors. This should increase the performance of the chip.
It will have 64 MB of RAM and 16 MB of ROM. It will include a 240 by 320 pixel, 3.5 inch, transflective screen and only one memory card slot, for SD or MMC cards.
The e350 is 4.9 by 3.15 by .5 inches. It weighs 5.25 ounces.
This model does not yet appear on Toshiba's U.S. site. It's on sale in Europe for 365 Euros ($390 US), just slightly more than the e330 costs. This contradicts an earlier report that the e350 would sell for just $200.
