Motorola's designers have been busy lately, as this company has unveiled yet another new smartphone, the third this week.

The A630 will have a clamshell design, with a screen on one side and QWERTY keyboard and D-pad on the other.

Its primary display will have a resolution of 176 by 220 pixels and be able to display 65,000 colors. It will support both landscape and portrait orientations.

The front of the A630 will have a numberpad and a small external screen for phone-related information.

It will have a VGA camera with 4x zoom and Bluetooth short-range wireless networking.

Update: Despite what was said earlier, this smartphone does not have an SD card slot, or any kind of memory card slot.

Motorola's official announcement for this device doesn't mention what operating system it uses, so it most likely is something proprietary. The company did say it can run J2ME applications.

When closed, the A630 will be 3.9 inches wide, 1.75 inches high, and 0.9 inches thick (99 mm by 45 mm by 23 mm). It will weigh 3.5 ounces (100 g).

This will be a tri-band GSM device that supports both voice and data. Its email application can handle POP3, SMTP, and IMAP4. It will also have software for SMS, MMS, and IM.

The Motorola A630 is expected to be available from Cingular Wireless later this summer.
