Motricity has opened a store exclusively for applications that work with Fossil's Palm Powered Wrist PDA.

This new store will allow people to get more out of their PDA-in-a-writstwatch by offering everything from games to productivity add-ons.

"Addition of third party mobile content is a great way to help customers get the most out of their mobile devices," said Larry Wallace, Vice President of Business Development, Motricity. "We are very happy to be Fossil's choice for powering its Wrist PDA Software Store and are excited to offer Fossil customers a broad range of software choices for their Wrist PDA experience."

More About the Wrist PDA

Despite its diminutive size, the Wrist PDA runs a full version of Palm OS 4.1 on a 66 MHz Motorola Dragonball Super VZ processor. It has 8 MB of RAM, allowing Storage of thousands of contacts, calendar entries, to do lists, memos, and more.

Fossil Wrist PDA It includes a stylus integrated into the band for Graffiti input, and a 3-way Rocker and Back button for one-handed navigation.

This watch can run most Palm OS applications, but Fossil recommends using applications designed to take advantage of the special features of the Wrist PDA, such as the Rocker Switch and the larger font sets. These are the sort that are being sold at the Motricity store.

Pre-loaded applications include: Address Book, Date Book, Memo Pad, Calculator, and To Do List.

It has an infrared port to support beaming between all Palm Powered devices.

The Wrist PDA comes with a USB cable that allows it to HotSync with a Windows or Macintosh PC.

It uses a rechargeable battery. According to Fossil, it can run for 3 or 4 days between recharges.

The Fossil Wrist PDA sells for $200 at the Fossil web site.
