TomTom has announced Navigator USA for the palmOne Tungsten T3 handheld. The bundle includes exclusive software along with a wired or wireless (Bluetooth) GPS receiver and a custom car kit.
Features include spoken directions based on highly accurate maps from Tele Atlas, millions of points of interest such as gas stations and airports, and a choice of 2D or 3D map views in either landscape or portrait mode. Maps of the entire United States are included on the CD-ROM, with European maps expected to be available shortly as a separate purchase.
The car cradle keeps the handheld charged while on long trips.
Future releases supporting other Palm OS devices are expected in the coming months.
The Tungsten T3 version will be priced at $249 for the wired version, and $349 for the Bluetooth version and will be available later this month through J&R Computer World.
In February Navigator USA will be available directly from the TomTom online store as well as from major electronics retailers.
TomTom already sells mapping solutions for Pocket PCs.
