HP Releases ROM Update for iPAQ h5500 Series

HP has released a firmware update that modifies the ROM image on an iPAQ h5500 series model. This update will make various bug fixes.

This will update the device to Fingerprint Software Version 3.7 and Bluetooth Driver Version 1.4.1.58. It will also correct a problem where the iPAQ unit does not wake up to perform a scheduled iPAQ Backup and restore the ClearType Tuner that was removed by the previous XIP update.

In addition, it will update the Wireless LAN Driver, which will improve the iPAQ's connectivity and roaming ability. However, this does not include the LEAP User interface, which needs to be installed separately.
