Nokia has signed an agreement that will lead to Quickoffice being bundled with Series 60. This will allow smartphones using this platform to access native Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files.
This office suite has been available for Series 60 for some time, but today's agreement will lead to it being a standard part of this platform.
"We are committed to providing users of smartphones with the best available software innovations as part of our platform offering," said Matti Vanska, Director, Mobile Software Sales and Marketing, Nokia. "The Quickoffice software suite, with its leadership and innovation, meets these criteria."
Quickoffice Premier allows users to view, edit, print, and even present documents directly from their smartphone.
Nokia and Quickoffice, Inc. did not reveal the financial terms of this agreement, and did not say when Quickoffice will become a standard part of Series 60.
More information on Quickoffice for Series 60 is available on its developer's web site.
