PROPortable has begun offering the ASUS Bluetooth GPS Kit.
This supports the Bluetooth Serial Port Profile (SPP) and therefore can be used with both Palm OS and Pocket PC models with Bluetooth wireless networking capabilities.
For $225, the user gets a Hollux Bluetooth Receiver, a car clamp and a car charger.
The Hollux receiver offers 12 parallel satellite-tracking channels for fast acquisition and reacquisition, plus a built-in rechargeable battery.
However, this device doesn't come with handheld mapping software. Users will have to supply their own. Pocket PC users might try Pharos' Ostia 6.0, or users of either platform should consider Mapopolis.
