Plazmic, a subsidiary of Research in Motion (RIM), has announced version 3.7 of the Plazmic Content Developer's Kit for the BlackBerry wireless platform. The kit contains tools that are designed to allow easy creation of interactive and animated browser-based content for BlackBerry handheld devices.

Features include an integrated content development environment that produces Scalable Vector Graphics, the W3C XML-based standard for rich media content. It also offers an SWF conversion utility, a media engine stimulator, a BlackBerry handheld simulator, a BlackBerry Java virtual machine, and an SVG transcoding utility.

"The Plazmic Content Developer's Kit for BlackBerry will provide developers with the ability to create rich and interactive graphics," said Julian Paas, Director, Content Planning at Plazmic.

The Plazmic Content Developer's Kit will be demonstrated at CTIA Wireless in Atlanta and is expected to be available in April. It will be freely distributed to registered developers, graphic artists, enterprise customers, and independent software vendors.

For more information, visit the Plazmic web site.

This announcement was made at the CTIA Wireless 2004 conference, going on now in Atlanta.
