Confirmation of the Pocket Loox N560... Mostly

Almost two months ago, Brighthand was leaked a roadmap of upcoming Pocket PCs from Fujitsu-Siemens. Now, it appears another one of these has been confirmed.

The Bluetooth Qualification Program (BQP) has given its approval to another member of this company's upcoming Loox 500 Series, one which was mentioned in the roadmap.

There have been previous members of this series released, but none of them have had Bluetooth. Plus, the N560 will supposedly have not just Bluetooth, but a laundry list of other high-end features.

As long-time readers of this site know, whenever the FCC approves an as-yet-unannounced model, a great many details about this device are revealed.

Unfortunately, the same isn't true of approval from the BQP. This group puts out a minimum of information about the hardware it approves.

Still, this is enough to confirm that there is a very strong basis for earlier rumors.

What the Rumors Say

The information leaked to Brighthand last month described the Pocket Loox N560, the world's first GPS-enabled handheld with a VGA screen.

It seems likely that the BQP's approval is for this device.

Supposedly, this Pocket PC will run Windows Mobile 5.0 on a 624 MHz processor, and include 256 MB of storage.

It will also reportedly include Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.0, and USB host capabilities.
