Pocket PCs Can Now Sync with Macs

Mark/Space is well-known in the Palm OS community as the maker of a desktop application that allows Mac OS X computers to synchronize with Sony's Clie handhelds. The company has just released a version that does the same thing for Pocket PCs.

The Missing Sync for Pocket PC 1.0 works with Apple's iSync to synchronize the handheld with iCal, Address Book, iTunes, and iPhoto.

This app allows users to mount the handheld and its memory cards on the Mac OS X desktop. In addition, these show up as an MP3 player in iTunes. Users can install CAB files and connect the Pocket PC to the Internet through the Mac's net connection.

"Mark/Space's expertise with iSync conduits now allows Pocket PC users the choice to use a Mac and synchronize their data with iCal and the Mac OS X Address Book." said Brian Hall, President/CEO of Mark/Space, "The Mac savvy method of mounting the Pocket PC handheld on the desktop and integration with iTunes and iPhoto provide a level of multimedia integration not even available with ActiveSync on a Windows PC."

Mark/Space is offering an introductory price of $29.95 for The Missing Sync for Pocket PC 1.0. The introductory price is valid until August 15 only.

This application requires Mac OS X 10.2 or later, iSync 1.1 or later, and a Pocket PC on the supported devices list.

This isn't the first application to offer Mac users the ability to synchronize with a Pocket PC. Pocket Mac Pro is available now for $70.
