SurfaceInk has announced the PowerPlay for Tapwave Zodiac. This accessory is designed to enhance the Mobile Gaming experience provided by the handheld, adding an ergonomic grip that mimics a full-size video game controller.

PowerPlay for Tapwave Zodiac "When SurfaceInk first approached us with this idea, we knew it would be a great addition to the Zodiac gaming console," said Tim Twerdahl, Tapwave's Director of Console Development.

"People love the portability of the Zodiac console. Gamers love the feel of a full-size video game controller," said Eric Bauswell, SurfaceInk's President and CEO. "And the PowerPlay grip gives you the best of both worlds."

The PowerPlay Grip features molded rubber grips and attaches to the back of the device. It has also been designed to fit in the Zodiac Sport Case and allows the use of earbud headphones.

The PowerPlay is expected to be available in mid-June from the Tapwave online store.

The main focus of this handheld is playing games, so it comes with a built-in analog joystick, a full complement of action buttons, and trigger buttons on its sides. It also offers rumble effects.

The Zodiac's 320-by-480 pixel screen includes both portrait and landscape modes. To allow users to play games head-to-head, the Zodiac has Bluetooth short-range wireless networking. This device also has two SD slots, one of which supports SDIO.
