Last fall, Qool Labs announced its first Palm Powered smartphone, the Qool QDA-700. This device has just hit the market for the first time.
According to Nexave, the QDA-700 has been released in Germany, where it sells for 469 Euros without a service contract.
Qool Labs originally hoped to launch this smartphone in multiple markets in Asia and Europe in November, but ran into delays.
The QDA-700 runs Palm OS Garnet on a 200 MHz Motorola processor. It has 32 MB of RAM, and an SD slot for additional storage.
It is a tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz) smartphone targeting the Asian and European consumer market.
This device comes with plenty of multimedia features, including a 1.3-megapixel camera, a 2.8-inch color display, support for WAV/MP3/MIDI ringtones, MP3 player, and MPEG4 video capture and playback capabilities.
In addition, the QDA-700 is bundled with productivity applications such as DocumentsToGo and PalmSource Mail, designed to appeal to "prosumer" and business customers.
It comes in two colors: blue and silver.
The QDA-700 is based on the smartphone platform developed by Portable Innovation Technologies (PiTech).
