According to rumors on two Palm OS news sites, Sony is about to refresh its mid-range handheld line.
The SJ30 will be replaced by the SJ33, according to ClieSource. This will offer a hi-res color screen and a built-in MP3 player. The SJ30, the model being replaced, has a color screen but no MP3 player. According to the Best Buy database, this model will debut at $300.
It will run Palm OS 4.1, have 16 MB of RAM, and won't use a virtual Graffiti area. The SJ33 will run a 33 MHz Dragonball processor. It will have a non-removable hard plastic cover.
The SJ20 will also get an update. It will be replaced by the SJ22, according to Palm Infocenter. Unlike its predecessor, this will have a hi-res color screen. It will also run Palm OS 4.1 on a 33 MHz Dragonball processor, have 16 MB of RAM, and no virtual Graffiti area.
New information has come in about this model. It is listed in the database of a major electronics retailer with a price of $200 and an availability date of April 12.
There is no word if Sony's low-end model, the SL10, will get updated.
