Just-Talk, Inc., an online retailer for mobile phones, says it will have the Samsung SGH-i500 Palm OS smartphone in stock in just a few weeks.

The SGH-i500 will be the first smartphone available that will run Palm OS 5.2. It will also have an integrated digital camera with flash and an SD slot.

Just-Talk is currently taking pre-orders for this device at $500 and says it will be available August 1. The version it is offering isn't SIM locked, so it can be used with any wireless provider for which its owner has a SIM card.

More About the SGH-i500

The SGH-i500 has 32 MB of RAM and 32 MB of ROM. It runs an Intel PXA262 processor at 300 MHz.

This model has a clamshell shape, with the phone keypad and buttons on one side and the screen on the other. There is a second small screen on the outside. Its main screen is a 320-by-353 pixel TFT LCD that can display 16-bit color. The extra height is for some icons displaying phone status. The outer screen is a 256 color, 96-by-64 pixel, OLED screen.

The SGH-i500 has an SD slot for extra storage. This is SDIO compatible, so it can use non-memory peripherals that plug into the SD slot.

As a mobile phone, it runs on GSM/GPRS (900/1800,1900) wireless networks, which means it can be used worldwide. It offers both voice and data capabilities.

Its battery is replaceable. The standard 1100 mAh battery will offer 200 minutes of talk time or 100 hours on stand-by. A 1700 mAh battery will also be available, though Just-Talk doesn't list this.

This device is 3.4 by 2.1 by 1.0 inches and weighs 5.3 ounces.
