Last week, Skype Technologies launched Skype for Pocket PC, which allows users to make Skype voice calls for free using Wi-Fi wireless networking. Now there is word that a Palm OS version will be available in October.
As well as calling other handhelds, this application allows voice calls to other Skype users running Skype for Windows, Skype for Linux, or Skype for Mac OS X. Users also have the option of calling landlines and mobile phones anywhere in the world for approximately 2 cents per minute.
According to ABCNEWS.com, "a Palm OS version is promised for next month."
All the versions of Skype are free, so the Palm OS version will almost certainly be free, also.
