Will the NicePalm Be the Next Mobile Manager? (Updated)

Update: There won't be a device called the NicePalm. Instead, that is palmOne's name for the Mobile Manager category in some countries. This article is being left up for archival reasons.

Just a few weeks after launching its first mobile manager, there is already a hint that palmOne plans to release another model in this category.

The first product palmOne classified as a mobile manager was the LifeDrive, a handheld that debuted last month. palmOne says that mobile managers are for people who want to be able to carry around in electronic form all their documents, music, and video in one device. To handle this job, the LifeDrive has a built-in 4 GB hard drive.

Now, there's a sign that a second handheld in this category is already in the works.

On the many of the accessories pages of the Dutch version of palmOne's European web store, the company's products are listed by categories. All the Treo smartphones are together, the Tungsten models are together, and so on.

palmOne Accessories Page In the category with the LifeDrive is listed the NicePalm, a model that has never before been mentioned by palmOne.

Unfortunately, virtually no other useful details are available on this model besides its name and product category.

The HotSync and recharging cables listed on the palmOne site are the same as the ones for the LifeDrive.

There are no hard or soft cases listed for either model, which would give a hint as to whether the NicePalm will be the same size and shape as the LifeDrive.

Thanks to Engadget for the tip.
