When palmOne released its latest handheld, the Tungsten E2, last month, it promised that it would quickly release the software necessary to allow this handheld to use its Wi-Fi SD card.
palmOne has now fullfulled this promise.
The software can be downloaded from the company's web site.
This card, which connects to the handheld through the SD card slot, uses the 802.11b standard. It can transfer data at up to 11 Mbps and has a maximum range of 300 feet.
It is the only Wi-Fi SD card that works with the Tungsten T3, Tungsten T5, Tungsten E2, and Zire 72.
At this time, these are the only palmOne models compatible with this card, and this is the only Wi-Fi SD card any of these handhelds can use.
When this wireless networking card debuted, it cost $129. Recently, that price dropped to $99. However, that is only the official price. Shopper.com shows several stores selling it for less. One even has it for just over $73.
