Companies from all over the world are starting work on a next-generation cellular-wireless networking standard.
The 26 companies -- including Cingular, NTT DoCoMo, and Vodafone -- are reportedly calling this upcoming standard "Super 3G."
It's much too early for any details to be available yet, but according to the Japanese newspaper Nihon Keizai Shimbun this network will have a data transfer speed so fast that high-resolution video can be uploaded or downloaded almost instantaneously.
The first Super 3G networks aren't expected to be in place before 2009.
