The Yopy 3700 has been on the market for a few weeks but so far has received little attention. This handheld runs a version of the Linux operating system and includes dual memory card slots, a keyboard, and a color screen.
It runs the Linupy OS on a 206 MHz Intel StrongARM processor. It has 128 MB of RAM.
The 3.5 inch color screen has a resolution of 240 by 320 pixels. The Yopy 3700 uses a clamshell design, so the screen closes down over its QWERTY keyboard.
This model has a CompactFlash Type II slot, into which a wireless LAN card can be plugged. It also has a MMC slot, though this can't be used with SD cards.
The Yopy 377 is 4.05 by 2.64 by .97 inches. It weighs 7 ounces.
The chief disadvantage of moving away from the Palm OS or Pocket PC is there are few third-party applications. To combat this, G.Mate has bundled a good collection of software with the Yopy 3700. This includes a set of PIM applications, a word processor, and a spreadsheet.
With an optional Wi-Fi card this device can be wireless connected to the Internet so it comes with a Web browser and an email application.
It also has some software just for fun, like an MP3 player and several games.
