palmOne has opened a new set of forums on its U.S. and Canada support web sites.
Rather than being places to discuss anything about this company's handhelds and smartphones, the aim of these new Help forums is to provide a place to answer support-focused questions in two areas only: troubleshooting and 'seeking a solution.'
A solution in this context is, for example, "How would I set up my Treo to access an Exchange email account via IMAP email behind a firewall?" Solutions may involve a mix of service advice, software recommendations, and configuration information.
The new Help forums can be found at http://forums.palmone.com.
An the near future, those visiting the palmOne support site will be able to search for answers to problems in the company's official knowledgebase and user guides, but also to receive answers from the Help Forums.
In addition, solutions to problems from the Help forums will be transferred into the knowledgebase.
