Kinoma has released Kinoma Player 4 EX, the latest version of its audio and video player for Palm OS smartphones and handhelds.
This provides unprecedented access to video on a mobile device, including Flash Video direct from popular sites like YouTube and Google Video. It also supports for key mobile carrier mandated industry standard video technologies including MPEG-4 progressive download, RTSP streaming, and 3GPP.
The new version of Kinoma Player can handle more than just streaming video. Its list of supported formats includes MPEG-4, M4A, MP3, Windows Media Audio, Windows Media Video, ASF, QuickTime movies, QuickTime VR, MQV, and JPEG.
Naturally, it still supports playback of audio, video, and photos from internal memory or a memory card.
While viewing video and photos, this application provides real-time pan and zoom -- even while playing.
It works together with the Blazer 4.5 web browser, so selecting a supported link on a web page launches Kinoma Player 4 EX to play the media.
Built into this application is the Kinoma Media Guide, a catalog of thousands of free audio and video streams around the Internet.
Kinoma Player 4 EX can be purchased from the Kinoma web site for $24.99.
Kinoma Producer 4
Kinoma also introduced Kinoma Producer 4, the desktop companion for its multimedia player. This can convert video in a wide variety of formats for playback on a Palm OS handheld or smartphone, or the Sony Playstation Portable.
It also includes support for Windows Media 9 output, which is used by Windows Mobile devices.
There are both Windows and Mac OS X version of this application.
Kinoma Producer 4 can be purchased through the Kinoma web site for $29.99.
