Palm Inc.'s latest smartphone, the Treo 680, is now available in Canada from Rogers Wireless. This is only the second carrier worldwide to offer this device, as it just debuted a week or so ago from Cingular Wireless in the United States.
This Palm OS-based smartphone is selling for $300 CAD with a three-year contract, $450 CAD with a two-year contract, or $500 with a one-year contract or no contract at all.

An Overview of the Treo 680
This smartphone greatly resembles previous Treos, but does not need the unpopular external antenna that those models had to have. It is also be thinner that its predecessors.

The 680 runs Palm OS Garnet, and includes 64 MB of user-available storage.
It is a GSM quad-band smartphone with support for GPRS and EDGE. It also includes Bluetooth.
Naturally, this Treo includes a suite of PIM applications -- Address Book, Calendar, To-Do list. It is also bundled with a suite of applications that will allow users to view and edit Microsoft Office documents.
An SD slot for additional storage and a 0.3 megapixel camera are also part of this model.
The Treo 680 is available in four different colors, but only if purchased through Palm's web site. Customers are able order this device and service from wireless carriers on Palm's site.
