Zenum Close to Releasing Super Sleek Pocket PC Phone

Swiss-based Zenum Technologies says it is almost ready to put the Opus Operis on the market. This will be very functional Pocket PC phone with a very stylish look.

It will have a tablet design with a built-in QWERTY keyboard, but be just 121 mm by 66 mm by 14 mm. Its 2.5-inch touchscreen will have a translucent flipcover.

The Opus Operis will run Windows Mobile 5.0 on a 200 MHz processor. It will have 64MB RAM, 128 MB of storage, and a 1 GB MiniSD card.

This tri-band GSM smartphone will offer GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi b/g, and Bluetooth 1.2.

It will also have a 2.0 megapixel camera and a 1,250 mAh swappable battery.

Zenum Technologies says the Opus Operis will debut sometime this spring, but hasn't said anything about what it will cost.

The company also hasn't said anything about where this device will be available, but it's lack of 850 MHz support makes a U.S. release unlikely.

Some Drawbacks

Despite its sleek looks, it has taken Zenum Technologie so long to get the Opus Operis even close to release that this device is somewhat behind the curve.

It is going to run Windows Mobile 5, while devices running Windows Mobile 6 will soon begin appearing.

In addition, this smartphone wonn't include any form of 3G cellular-wireless networking.
