Beta of SlingPlayer Mobile for Palm OS Now Available

Sling Media is now allowing Treo 700p users who want to try out the beta of the Palm OS version of SlingPlayer Mobile to download it.

This application allows owners of this Palm OS-based device to watch everything they could on their home TV... but on their handheld or smartphone. With a SlingBox, users can have live TV programs streamed to their mobile device. They can also control a home digital video recorder (DVR), DVD player, video tape player, and more.

Currently, this application only supports the Palm Treo 700p. Sling Media intends to add support for additional models in the future.

Interested people in the U.S. and Canada can download SlingPlayer Mobile for Palm OS from Sling Media’s web site.

The full version of this application is expected to be available during the second quarter of this year. It will cost $29.99 ($34.99 CAD).
