New BlackBerries May Be Coming to Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile

If a report from a stock market analyst is correct, May 7 is going to be a very big day for Research in Motion (RIM), as that's when three carriers are expected to add new BlackBerry models.

According to Seeking Alpha, the BlackBerry Pearl may launch on Sprint or Verizon or both on May 7, a release timed to coincide with RIM's RIM's Capital Markets Day. If this is correct, it will be the first time the Pearl has been available from a CDMA carrier, as the only ones using it now use the GSM standard.

In addition, this market analysis company says T-Mobile USA might be the first carrier to start offering the BlackBerry 8300 on this same day.

The 8300 is only a rumor at this point. It supposedly resembles the BlackBerry 8800 -- including the full QWERTY keyboard and GPS -- but unlike the current model the upcoming one is expected to have a built-in 2 megapixel camera and Wi-Fi.

More About the BlackBerry Pearl

The Pearl offers many of the same features as the 8800, but in a smaller package.

Unlike the 8800, though, it doesn't include a full QWERTY keyboard. Instead, it uses this company's SureType system, in which each key handles two letters.
