Makayama, the company behind well-known application DVD to Pocket PC, is now offering Pocket Live TV 1.0, a new service that allows users to watch 100 TV channels from 10 countries live on a Pocket PC phone.
Unlike many of its competitors, once this application has been purchased there is no further charge for using the service.
Pocket Live TV includes some of the top news channels, such as CNN, BBC, and NBC. It also offers sports channels such the Baseball Channel, Eurosport, and Sportbox. In addition it has dozens of general news and entertainment channels, and lets users get the latest weather forecast from the Weather Channel.
The channels are broadcast over the Internet, so a Wi-Fi or cellular-wireless connection is necessary. It also works with the 3G and 2.5G standards UMTS, WCDMA, EV-DO, and EDGE.
Pocket Live TV 1.0 is available now for $19.95 from the Makayama web site. A demo version can be found on that same site.
