Raon Digital has announced the Everun, a Windows XP UMPC with a built-in keyboard. This device will have several features that have piqued the interest of small computer fans.

One of these is its size. The Everun will have a tablet design, and be just 6.7 inches long, 3.3 inches wide, and 0.9 inches thick (17 by 8.3 by 2.5 cm) and weigh about 1.1 pounds (500 g).

Another feature attracting attention is battery life.  Raon says this UMPC will run up to 7 hours on its standard battery or 12 hours on its enhanced battery.

And finally there's price. It seems the Everun will be officially released only in Korea, but U.S. gray-market retailer Dynamism is promising to sell it for under $900.

An Overview of the Raon Everun

This UMPC will run Windows XP Home Edition on a 600 MHz AMD Geode LX 900 processor, and will include at least 512 MB of RAM.

To save power, the Everun will be available with a 6 GB solid state hard drive. It will also be sold with a 60 GB standard hard drive instead, and a version with both will be available.

As mentioned earlier, this PC will have a tablet shape, with a small QWERTY keyboard next to its 4.8-inch, 800-by-480 touchscreen.

The Everrun will include integrated Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) and Bluetooth 2.0.  Raon also mentions 3G cellular-wireless networking as an option item.

This UMPC will offer a USB and a miniUSB port, and a docking station will include an Ethernet port.
