The main points of the game are development and battle. Players use any of the seven resources to improve their castle, and build up an army to protect the castle and mines, and to conquer new lands.
Heroes – troop leaders – play the key role in the game. In most cases, it is crucial to have a skilled hero in order to win the game. Each hero can have up to four primary and 22 secondary skills. In addition to this, a hero can learn more than 40 spells.
The game has five difficulty levels, and offers the player 37 maps, 36 heroes, 73 unique artifacts, and more than 50 constructions.
Fans of multi-player games will enjoy the hot-seat mode, which allows several players to play together using one device.
Pocket Heroes 1.01 is available at www.pocketheroes.org for $19.95. A limited-function demo is also available.
It runs on devices with Windows Mobile 2003 and above (Pocket PC or Professional), and supports both VGA and QVGA screens..
