Sling Media has just released a version of SlingPlayer Mobile that is compatible with Microsoft’s new Windows Mobile 6 operating system. The company has also recently introduced a new beta of this application for Palm/Garnet OS devices.
Either version gives Slingbox owners the ability to watch and control their home TV from a network-enabled smartphone or handheld.
SlingPlayer Mobile for Windows Mobile Version 1.5
Devices running Windows Mobile 6 are starting to reach consumer's hands, and users of these who want to watch their Slingbox will need the latest version of SlingPlayer Mobile.
With today’s announcement, this application is now compatible with devices that run Windows Mobile 6 Standard and Professional, Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC and Smartphone, and Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition.
And there are improvement in SlingPlayer Mobile for more than just Windows Mobile 6 users. The latest version includes support for remote control functions for additional A/V devices, updated some channel logos, and fixed various bugs.

SlingPlayer Mobile for Palm OS Beta 2
Sling Media is in the process of developing a version of SlingPlayer Mobile for Palm/Garnet OS devices, and it has recently released its second public beta of this application, which offers some new features and many bug fixes.
The only devices currently listed as compatible with this are the Treo 700p and 755p, but it can be installed on other models.

SlingPlayer Mobile is available for download from Sling Media’s U.S., Canadian, and UK web sites, which can all be accessed from www.slingmedia.com.
Naturally, the Palm OS beta is currently free, but the Windows Mobile version is $30.
