The on again/off again system software update for Sprint version of the Treo 700p is once again available, at least in a limited fashion.
Palm, Inc. first released this a few weeks ago, but withdrew it because it was causing problems for some of those who tried to install it.
As it stands now, Sprint Treo 700p Update 1.10 can only be installed from an SD card, not through a desktop or laptop computer.
In a note on Palm's official blog, Paul Loeffler, the company's manager of public relations, said, "We are working to resolve the installation issue with the desktop updater and will make it available as soon as possible."
Those who have a blank SD card and a card reader for their PC or Mac can find the update on Palm's web site.
Loeffler also once again promised that a version of this update will soon be available for Verizon Wireless customers who have a Treo 700p.
What's Included in the Update?
This system software update offers a long list of improvements to this smartphone, especially in the area of Bluetooth networking.
In addition, it brings SDHC support to this model, allowing it to use much higher capacity memory cards.
