Palm, Inc. has introduced new system software for two versions of a Windows Mobile-based Treo offered by Verizon Wireless.
Treo 700w
This includes a major update to the firmware for the Treo 700w, bringing significant new features, including the ability to use this smartphone as a wireless modem for a second device such as a laptop, and support for stereo Bluetooth headphones.

Who Needs This Update?
The Palm Treo 700 w/wx update applies to Windows Mobile Treos on the Verizon Wireless network only, and specifically to devices that have the current software versions stated as being TREO700W-1.02-VZW, TREO700W-1.10-VZW, or TREO700WX-1.20-VZW.
To check the software version of a Windows Mobile Treo, press Start, select Settings, select the System tab, open About, go to the Phone tab, and the Software Version will appear there.

It is advised to follow the installation instructions as they are noted on the Palm Support page for minimal problems during installation.
