Seido Announces 1600 mAh Battery for Treo 680/750
One of the most common complaints leveled against the Treo 680 and 750 models is that they have an anemic battery life. And while there are solutions that increase that, to date all of them have been much larger batteries that require a larger battery door, defeating the purpose of the slimmer profile offered by these smartphones. Seido aims to rectify this by making available a 1600 mAh Battery for the Treo 680/750 that is the same size as the original 1200 mAh battery.
Offering an additional 33% capacity, the 1600mAh replacement battery has been designed for Treo users who need a little more juice to get through a business day or extended weekend.
The Seido 1600mAh Battery for Treo 680/750 will be available at the end of July, but can be pre-ordered now for $49.99 from the Seido web site.
Pimlico Software Releases DBFixtIt for Palm OS Devices
Many developers and users complained when Palm introduced new versions of the Contacts, Calendar, Memos, and Tasks applications on Palm OS devices. In addition to creating yet another application for developers to worry about, some users had problems with using and HotSyncing these applications. Pimlico Software, maker of the DateBk series, has developed a utility called DBFixIt which aims to detect and repair errors in Palm OS databases.
DBFixIt is designed to know the structure of both the traditional and proprietary Palm OS/palmOne PIM databases, and looks for all possible errors in those databases. It then allows the users to selectively fix those errors without losing any valid data. In addition, this application will fix the known "Huge Contacts Database" bug -- in which corrupt Blobs can swell up the contacts database to enormous sizes affecting contact lookup and overall device performance.
DbFixIt is $12.95. While in its unregistered form it will run and detect errors, but not fix them. As with DateBk6, all the profits from the sale of DBFixIt go to this company's wildlife conservation efforts. Visit the DBFixIt web page for downloading and more information.

Featuring Joseph, Moses, and David from the Old Testament, as well as Peter and Paul from the New Testament, these biographies look to give fresh insight into the lives of these individuals and lessons readers can take to heart in their own lives.
