Palm, Inc. is now accepting applications for the Treo Mobile Comedy Film Festival, which is being held to celebrate the emerging art form of made-for-mobile films.
"We hope with your help to discover new talent and get a chance to laugh together at some potentially hilarious one-minute shorts," said Colleen Werner, who is in charge of the contest.
Entries must be playable on a Treo, but not necessarily created on one.
Award Categories
There are three categories for entries on this film festival, but the Best of Festival winner does not have to come from one of these:
The top entries will be eligible to win awards and a trip to Los Angeles for the awards ceremony. The Best of Festival winner will get $5,000 plus a mobile filmmaking toolkit, while the winners in each category will receive $2,000 and the additional prizes.
Palm welcomes both experienced and inexperienced filmmakers. Entrants may create and edit their video using any means.
View on MobiTV
Entries in the Treo Mobile Comedy Film Festival will be screened on MobiTV, a streaming video service available for Palm OS and Windows Mobile devices.
Free trials of MobiTV will be available during the lead up to the festival to allow the general public to see the entries.
