Mark/Space has introduced a new version of its application that connects smartphones and handhelds running Windows Mobile to Mac OS X computers. Along with a number of other new features, this is the first Mac synchronization software to support devices running Windows Mobile 6.
The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile 4.0 allows users to synchronize a wide variety of data and files, from contacts and calendars to Microsoft Office files and iTunes podcasts.
It works with Windows Mobile 6 Professional, Standard, and Classic, as well as operating system versions going back to Pocket PC 2002.
Other New Features
A new Video plug-in supports importing videos taken with a smartphones built-in camera. These videos can be imported directly into an iPhoto album or into a folder of the user's choosing anywhere on their Mac.
The Video plug-in also provides encoding and mobile playback capabilities, which give users the option to encode DRM-free QuickTime video from the Mac and download it to their Windows Mobile device.
A new Call Log plug-in and matching Call Log application for Mac OS X provide access to the log of phone calls made and received with phone- enabled Windows Mobile devices.
Version 4.0 of The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile also includes a new SMS Log plug-in and matching SMS Log application for Mac OS X.

The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile is available now as an electronic download for $39.95. A version on CD will be available in several weeks for $49.95.
