Earlier this year, i-mate announced plans to release a group of Windows Mobile 6 smartphones it called the Ultimate series.
This week though, Clove Technologies, a UK retailer, reported that i-mate has canceled the majority of these much anticipated devices

Fortunately for those who are interested in this collection of smartphones, the story doesn't end there. A reporter from CNET contacted i-mate Asia and was told that all the models in the Ultimate series are still scheduled for release.
Coming Eventually
What may be the cause of Clove's erroneous report is i-mate's plan to spread out the release of these models.
The two models Clove said weren't canceled, the Ultimate 6150 and 8150, will debut first. The remaining three -- the sliding 5150, mini-notebook 7150, and clamshell 9150 -- will be introduced later.
i-mate declined to say exactly when any of these models will be released, though.
