Apple Introduces Second iPhone Software Update

A second system software update has been released for the iPhone.

According to Apple, the only changes made in iPhone Software 1.0.2 are to fix unspecified bugs. However, the earlier update included a few new features that weren't documented, so it's possible this one will too.

Like the previous one, this update is installed by connecting this smartphone to a computer running iTunes. It isn't possible to install it over the air.

Hackers Beware

Those who have modified their iPhone is ways not authorized by Apple should be aware that installing this update could return their device to the factory defaults, and there might be problems restoring from a backup.

As the previous update also caused problems for many of those who have loaded unauthorized third-party applications written in native code on their devices, it's becoming increasingly likely that this is an intentional part of these system software updates.
