Palm Europe Ltd announced the Treo 500v today. This smartphone, which will be released next month, will be Palm's first without a touchscreen. It will still, however, include a full keyboard.
This device will run Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6 Standard, the version of this operating system specifically designed for smartphones without touchscreens. Like many models that use this platform, it will have a QVGA display.
Palm's latest will be able to access Vodafone's 3G cellular-wireless network, and support video streaming.

The Treo 500v will include 150 MB of built-in storage, and more is available thanks to its microSD memory card card.
This will be the first model using a new design Palm has developed. It will be available in two colors: black and white.
This smartphone will include a 2.0 megapixel camera that's able to capture both still images and video.
Naturally, it will include support for Bluetooth headsets.
Pricing and Availability
The Treo 500v will initially be available to Vodafone customers in Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, the UK and Vodacom customers in South Africa.
Palm says this model will go on sale in October.
Pricing has not yet been announced, but John Hartnett, Palm's head of Global Markets and Windows Business Unit, said, "The Treo 500v is priced to enable a broader audience to experience the internet and email on the go."
This device is clearly going to be targeted at consumers, rather than business users. "We are confident the Palm Treo 500v will appeal to the growing group of consumers looking for the same functionality and ease of use our business customers continue to enjoy from this type of premium device," said Jens Schulte-Bockum, the director of Vodafone's Global Terminals division.
