Palm's Treo smartphones are well known for keeping users connected with voice, email, and Internet. However, many users might not be as aware of the multimedia abilities of these devices. The Treo Film Festival, done in concert with MobiTV, is a comedy film festival benefiting the ComedyCures Foundation that brings together mobile entertainment and devices for a worthy cause.
Filmmakers are in the process of submitting 60-second film clips that will be broadcast on MobiTV, a mobile television service included with the Treo 755p smartphone and other mobile devices.
The awards show will be shown exclusively on MobiTV on October 18, and be hosted by Susie Essman and John Henson. Essman and Henson are also two of the judges who will be selecting the sixty finalists. Other judges include Adam Ferrara and Penn & Teller.
Still Accepting Entries
The entry deadline for submissions if September 24, 2007 and the contest is open to participants aged 18 and older. Submissions will be judged on originality, technical excellence, and how effectively the film integrates the mobile experience.
