Verizon Now Offering SMT5800 Windows Mobile Smartphone

After pre-announcing it some time ago, Verizon Wireless has released the SMT5800. This is a version of the HTC Vox/Libra, a Windows Mobile 6 Standard smartphone with both a keyboard and numberpad.

The SMT5800 is available now on Verizon's web site for $300 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a new two-year contract. Customers who purchase a qualified voice plan along with a data plan may be eligible for an additional $100 credit.

An Overview of the Verizon SMT5800

Verizon's latest smartphone has a 2.4-inch, QVGA screen and a numberpad on its front, in addition to a slide-out, landscape-oriented, QWERTY keyboard.

The SMT5800 is able to access Verizon's 3G cellular wireless network, and it  includes a 2.0 megapixel camera and Bluetooth. It also has an internal microSD card slot with support for 8 GB cards.

It is  4.1 inches tall, 2.0 wide, and 0.7 inches thick- It weighs 4.2 oz.

This smartphone runs Windows Mobile 6 Standard, which means it does not use a touchscreen.
