A Preview of HTC's TouchFLO 2

An early copy of HTC's follow-up to TouchFLO has leaked on the Web, and this gives the world a sneak peek at what this application launcher will offer.

Smartphones in HTC's very popular Touch line are designed around a special finger-friendly application launcher called TouchFLO, which allows the user to access most common functions through the touchscreen, without using the stylus.

However, the original version of this is somewhat limited, and leaked screenshots of the upcoming version show that HTC has clearly made it more robust.

For example, the original version of TouchFLO gives the user a pre-set group of applications that can be displayed for easy launching, while the upcoming one will apparently allow users to specify which ones it are displayed (see picture at right).

It will also include a new Communications screen, that will allow users to more easily turn on or off the wireless features of their smartphone.

At this time, it is not known when HTC will introduce TouchFLO, or how. It's likely the company will start adding it to future devices in its Touch series, but whether it will release a version for units that have already been sold is not clear.
